Several times per year our bold and intrepid youth follow their calling out to the Sacred Mountain to quest – to die to an old life and step into the unknown so they might be born into a new identity and level of self-knowledge. It is a deep initiation into the rigors, rewards, magic and mystery of one’s soul; a journey undertaken with trepidation and also with excitement. Inspired by their courage and vulnerability, we roll out to send them off to the wilderness with all our love and passion.

These delicious and remarkable sendoff ceremonies occur with our Youth Quests and school based rites of passage programs (see calendar for dates). The sendoffs are a marker for these teens and their parents as they say goodbye to childhood and head out for a tremendous adventure. Each sendoff ceremony is a poignant, beautiful and unique moment in the life of a teen and their family. And, like many of life’s most powerful moments, it takes a community and ceremonial setting to truly allow the fullness of the moment to be experienced. In addition to youth questers and their families and guides, the sendoff ceremonies are open to anyone who wishes to attend. As members of the greater community-at-large, your role will be simple and your presence can mean a lot to these young people as they leave for an invigorating and, at times, intimidating journey.
