Box 177, Woodacre, CA 94973. Are You Yearning...
Discover the wisdom within a stone. Or the secrets of a gurgling creek. If you actually stopped to listen, what would you ‘hear’ from a giant sequoia, a being 1500 years old? THE DETAILS We will be camping together by a creek in the midst of fir and pine trees. Nearby are cascading waterfalls, shining granite and gorgeous wildflowers. Several groves of giant sequoias are found a short drive away. Our modalities of exploration will include nature awareness activities, solitude and group time. We will also be learning how to listen more deeply to one another as a part of our learning to listen more deeply to nature. This is a campground-based program and participants do not need to be able to carry a full-sized backpack to participate. When: Thursday, August 17, 10 am- Monday, August 21st, 1 pm. *Please Note- Most participants choose to arrive on the night of August 16th so they can acquaint themselves with the area and not rush into the start of the trip the next morning. Where: The trip will begin and end at Stony Creek Campground by the north end of Sequoia NP (a 6 hour drive from the Bay Area). The campground has pay phones, a restaurant and small store nearby but is otherwise fairly isolated. Some other amenities can be found 8 miles away at Logdepole. All permits and camping fees from 8/16-21 are paid by Wilderness Reflections. What you need to provide: Personal camping gear; share in carpooling costs/vehicles. No prior camping experience needed.
