SUMMARY:Introduction to Ecotherapy- May 9
DESCRIPTION:Are You Ready…?\n• For more time outdoors?\n• To bring the healing powers of Nature into your work and daily life?\n• To more often feel that wonderful sense of ease and connection with all of life? \nThe erroneous notion of modern society that we humans are somehow separate from or not a part of Nature causes much of our distress and dis-ease. Logically\, we can understand this– what or where else could we be? Yet this alienation is so commonplace in western culture that we often don’t even notice it. And even as we are awakening to the gravity of this situation for the larger biosphere\, we are still just learning how best to respond.\nThrough an array of theories and practices ecopsychology and it’s applied form\, known as ecotherapy\, seek to redress this fundamental alienation and restore the wellness that comes when we live with a felt sense of connection to Nature all around and within us. As healers and helpers\, there is much we can do to ally ourselves and our efforts with the healing forces of Nature. \nCome Join Us to: \n• Experience your self and body more deeply as a part of Nature \n• Learn how this elemental connection has everything to do with your well-being \n• Learn tools for helping yourself and others connect with Nature and orient to life in healthy\, supportive and energizing ways \nWe’ll spend the entire day outdoors\, blending discussion of pertinent ideas with ample periods of experiential activities\, quiet reflection and a chance to consider how to integrate the day’s learning into one’s work or life. Open to healing arts professionals as well as the general public\, this fun\, experiential day on the land will introduce participants to some basic principles and practices of the field of ecotherapy. \nPartial scholarships available for students on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nClick here for more program details \nContinuing Education credits may be available for this program (Contact us for more details) \n

SUMMARY:Somatic EcoPsychology and Wilderness Apprenticeship Program 2026

The wilderness solo is\, in part\, a time to give thanks to the earth and to ask for Nature’s guidance and blessing as you progress down the path of becoming a wilderness rites of passage guide. The program continues in late summer with an integration meeting in preparation for the 5-day Guiding Practice Immersion. This front-country based intensive culminates with apprentices having the opportunity to practice guiding volunteer participants with the support of the guides and other apprentices. Readings\, homework assignments and contact with colleagues will build program continuity across the duration of the training.  We will also cover ecotherapeutic approaches more easily applied to urban and other non-wilderness settings. \nOpen to therapists\, wilderness guides\, coaches and anyone eager to work more somatically or in alignment with Nature’s healing powers\, the Somatic Ecopsychology and Wilderness Apprenticeship Program is ideal for people inspired to become wilderness rites of passage guides or do other nature-based transformative work. \n*Register by January 20\, 2026 and receive a $300 Early Bird Registration Discount* \nWhen: For 2026 there are 4 meetings: \nIntroductory Meeting\, Tues.\, May 26\, 2026\, 5:30-8:30pm online;\nWilderness Immersion and Solo\, Thu.\, June 25 – Sun.\, July 5\, 2026;\nIncorporation & Guiding Orientation Meeting\, Tues.\, Aug. 18\, 2026\, 5:30-8:30pm online;\nGuiding Practice Intensive\, Wed.\, Aug 26 – Sun.\, Aug. 30 \nWhere: Sequoia National Park\, CA (Wilderness Immersion and Solo) and Marin Co.
